Your photos stay yours.

River Pixels turns your photos into wall art. This page explains what we collect, why, who helps us do it, how long we keep it, and how to download or delete it. Questions go to [email protected].
The short version
- We use your photo only to make your art. We never sell it or use it for advertising.
- Location and camera details are stripped from your photo in your browser, before it reaches us.
- We don't recognise faces or measure them. Our photo check only notes whether faces are visible.
- Original photos are deleted 30 days after upload unless you ask us to keep them.
- You can download everything we hold about you, or delete your account, from your account page.
What we collect
- Your photos and art. The photos you upload, and the previews, versions and print files we make from them.
- Account details. Your email address once you verify it, and your name and phone number if you add them.
- Orders. Delivery address, what you bought, gift messages, and payment status. Card details go straight to our payment provider; we never see or store them.
- Feedback and reports you send us.
- Technical details. Your IP address and a random visitor ID, used to keep free previews fair and stop abuse.
Cookies
We only use cookies the site needs: one keeps you signed in (including as an anonymous visitor before you share your email), and one stops a shared preview being voted on twice from the same browser. There are no advertising or tracking cookies.
Who helps us
We share only what each service needs to do its job:
- Supabase and Vercel host our database, files and website.
- fal runs the AI that checks your photo and creates your art; your photo is sent to it for the check and for each style.
- OpenAI checks uploaded photos for unsafe content.
- Cloudflare Turnstile checks that visitors are people, not bots.
- Our print partner prints and ships your order; it receives the print file, your name and delivery address, and for some countries your email for customs.
- Flutterwave processes payments.
- Our email provider sends your receipts and updates.
- Sentry receives error reports so we can fix problems; they carry no names, emails or photos.
- Google, if you choose to sign in with Google.
Some of these services store data outside your country, including in the United States.
How long we keep it
- Original photos: 30 days after upload, unless you tick "Keep my original photos". If an order uses a photo, we keep it until 30 days after delivery.
- Anonymous visits: if you never share an email, everything is deleted after 7 days without activity.
- Your art and gallery: until you delete your account.
- Orders and payment records: as long as accounting law requires. If you delete your account, we remove your name, email and address from them.
- Usage records and fingerprints of blocked photos: 90 days.
- Download files of your data: 7 days.
Emails
We email you about your previews and orders. Reminders and offers are only sent if you tick the box to get them, and every one has an unsubscribe link.
Your choices
- Download my data and Delete my account are on the Privacy tab of your account.
- You can turn marketing emails and photo keeping on or off there at any time.
- For anything else, including correcting your details, write to [email protected].
Photos of other people
Only upload photos you have the right to use, and ask the people in them first. River Pixels is not meant for children; you must be 18 or older to order.
Changes
If we change this promise in a way that matters, we'll update the date above and tell account holders by email.
